REVIEW e.l.f. Studio Vanilla & Coconut Lotion Wipes

29 December 2013

So, I'm back from my ridiculous hiatus! With a ton of reviews! I'm going to be doing "Bloguary", where I post (at least) one blog per day during the month of January! My goal is to post two or three blogs a week, but I'm so behind that blogging every day in January seems incredibly legit to me, haha. Anyway, this is an e.l.f. Studio product review!

I am obsessed with wipes of any kind. I know, it's horrible for the environment and it's horrible for your wallet but the convenience factor is soooooo nice. Like those Super Goop sunscreen wipes? LOVE 'EM. I have bug spray in a wipe form as well. Let's be real here; who the hell wants to lug around full bottles of sunscreen and bug spray? Or carry around window cleaner in their car? I haven't hauled from e.l.f.'s website in quite a while because I was waiting for a decent sale (I did haul a ton of stuff during their 50% off/free shipping so there will be a LOAD of reviews when I get that stuff!). Luckily my local Targets and Hardings carry select e.l.f. products. I found these at Hardings and they're $3, the same price as through the website (minus shipping!) They only had one scent available but lotion wipes? Sounds good to me! I'm so lazy when it comes to applying body lotion and, again, who wants to drag a bottle of lotion around with them!?

FTC Disclaimer: I purchased these with my own money. I am not being compensated for this review. I am not affliated with the company. I am not being sponsored and, as always, all opinions are entirely my own.

'butter LONDON Lippy Tinted Balm in Axis Rose REVIEW

31 August 2013

So, I feel like it has been forever and a day since I have blogged. Which is probably quite true. :/ I am going to try and post some smaller reviews, including the rest of my WNW posts, omg, but before I get to those, I want to get this one up because this product is fairly new and ridiculously exciting. On butter LONDON's Instagram, they had been posting teaser photos of their new cosmetics line for a while now, but I wasn't sure if I actually wanted to pick anything up. This brand is pretty pricy. When I saw the teaser pics for this particular product, I had no intention of picking anything up! $20 is pretty expensive for a lipstick, especially when I like plenty of the drugstore options, especially from Maybelline and Revlon.

But when I swatched them in Ulta (pretty sure this is an Ulta exclusive right now but you can also purchase online from BL's website), I absolutely had to buy it.

Maybelline Eye Studio® Color Tattoo™ Metal REVIEW (Barely Branded and Gold Rush)

10 June 2013

Okay, so this is obvious proof as to how damn far behind I am...curse you, hockey! Anyway, I picked up these two cream shadows way back when they first came out...I know, I know, long frickin' time ago, right? Well, better late than never? Haha, yeah, that's what I tell myself to sleep at night. ANYWHO, I was terribly interested in this new line of Color Tattoo products from Maybelline. I did a review on the whole line when they first came out (there are ten permanent shades in the regular collection and I have all of them) which you can read at the link. And if you've already read that post, then you know I really like these things!

Since I do have a full blog post on these products and how they function, etc, I'm not going to go way into depth explaining that stuff here. I have a couple of the limited edition shades and they all function very similar to each other, to be honest. There are definitely textural differences, depending on the finishes and the color payoff also varies. It's that kind of thing I'll talk about here. So I'd just like to say that these wear like iron on me, do not crease, smudge, or budge, and make excellent color bases.

Now that we have that jazz out of the way, let's go!

Wet N Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection Photo Op Eyeshadow Palette in Maldives Sky REVIEW

09 June 2013

So while I actually have access to a computer, I figured it would be pretty dang smart if I just typed up a couple more blogs. So here's a review I meant to do ages ago. I just never got around to it. BUT this stuff is permanent, not LE like I had originally thought. The WNW Fergie nail polishes are available pretty much everywhere, but the Fergie Centerstage Collection is found only at Walgreens, so if you're interested in checking it out, you won't be able to find it elsewhere, sadly. At least, that is my general understanding, haha. There are four eyeshadow palettes in this collection, but I only have two of the four. Originally, I was going to review both of them at the same time, but I like the other palette so much better so, yeah...haha.

I have another review on some of the lipsticks from this collection, which you can read here, if you're interested!

I'm pretty sure that these palettes are about $4.99 but that might vary depending on location. Now, WNW does offer 8-pan palettes for the same price but I actually like these better. I know the 8-pan palettes are everyone's favorite, and if they work for you, that's fantastic. They're so powdery and chalky and fall-out prone. I'm not crazy about the high level of shimmer those shadows have either. For the most part, the frosty shimmer is pretty cheap looking on me. It looks amazing on other people though! In fact, I'm incredibly jealous, haha. So if those shadows work for you, I'd go for it. These palettes only have five shadows, versus the eight in the other ones.

Where the F#@& have I been? And a Maybelline Mascara Review

06 June 2013

So, I know, I know. My last blog post was like...frickin' three months ago. And I am so, so sorry for that! I hope to never get this far behind again. Unfortunately I don't have regular access to a computer, so I will probably be stuck with a single blog a week, but that's better than nothing, right? Hopefully? Gosh, everyone, I feel like a huge douche. :(

First off, I DO have a tablet but I can't edit my blog photos on said tablet, so that doesn't do me much good. I have an Influenster review that I desperately need to get up ASAP but after that, nothing much. So where have I been? Well, school partly. This past semester kicked my ass.

Also, I started a new, old job. I work at Ulta Beauty and I recently transferred stores. Unfortunately, I'm still living in my old city so I have a nice hour long drive. There's a lot of stuff I could say about that, but...yeah.

Finally, hockey. Omfg, hockey. It has consumed my SOUL, guys. Now, as I've mentioned before, I was essentially born and raised in the shitty state of Michigan. So obviously, I am a huge Red Wings fan. And my team made it much further in the Stanley Cup playoffs than expected, so I've pretty much been glued to a TV. Now, as people might know, we lost in OT in game 7 to the Chicago Blackhawks, but the playoffs aren't over yet! I've been kind of obsessive with hockey this year...not quite sure why, haha.

Actually, it's probably because we have some really hot players. And, you know, I love hockey as a sport. It's the only one I can stand watching, actually. My parents are both native Detroiters, so it might have been inevitable that I would love the Red Wings! Seriously though...Michigan does hockey right.

Brendan Smith, #2 defenseman. What can I say? I want the D.

Anyway, I've been paying an insane amount of attention to the Pittsburgh - Boston series. I'm not a fan of either team...actually, I dislike both. Butttttt...I'm certainly no Blackhawks fan. Personally, I want the LA Kings to win the Cup again.

Okay, enough of that.

Wet N Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection - Perfect Pout Lipstick REVIEW

05 March 2013

Okay, so this review is kind of a long time coming, haha. I've been having some crazy life issues lately. Not that I'm trying to excuse my lack o' blogging, but...there it is. Anyway, I'm back and I'm getting down to work, hence why I've been pumping out the reviews lately! :) ANYWAY, this is a review on some new lipsticks from Wet N Wild and their Fergie collaboration collection. I guess she's the official spokeswoman for the brand now and they came out with some new (assuming these products are permanent since they have their own fixtures in the WNW planos at Walgreens now) products! I actually have a decent amount from the Centerstage Collection, but we're going to start with the lipsticks.

I've tried the MEGA SHIELD™ Lip Color SPF 15, the MEGA LAST® Lip Color (the matte finish lipsticks), and the SILK FINISH® Lipsticks (which are the dollar lipsticks) before and these are kind of...like a mix between all of them. They aren't totally matte but they're not super glossy or crazy hydrating either. That being said, I LOVE these lipsticks. In fact, I will probably buy the rest of them!

NYX Love In Rio Eye Shadow Trio Review

It's going to be an exciting time on my blog if you enjoy NYX products. A lot of new products have come out and Ulta recently had them on sale, so I bought a bunch of new stuff to try. I've been doing a lot of lip product reviews lately so I wanted to get back into the whole eye makeup scene, so you'll have to wait for the Butter Gloss review, sadly!

I have two of the new Love In Rio eye shadow trios to talk about today. NYX has always been known for their eye products - pigmented shadows and a huge color range. I lump NYX in with drugstore makeup, so when you consider the sheer number of products and colors they come in, it's no wonder everyone freaks about this brand! Their old trios are still up on NYX's site. To be honest, I was never really blown away by the old trios (the ones with the round pans) or some other palettes by NYX, so I wasn't expecting miracles from these little guys.

Make Up For Ever & Sephora Lip Kit Review

01 March 2013

I'm pretty sure everyone and their mother LOVES value kits, right? Well, these are full size, permanent products, so I'm going to review them all anyway, okay? I found this set at a Sephora in J.C.Penneys, so I don't know where else this would be available (I can't find it at Sephora.com) but it's only $28 and it's a really good bargain, especially if you wanted to try out some Make Up For Ever lip products. I've only ever used the Glossy Full Couleur glosses and I do like them quite a lot. But as far as lipstick or liner goes, I've never dabbled in that before.

At my local Sephora, there were three different kits: berry, red, and pinky-beige. They come with a lip liner and a lip gloss and you get to choose your own lipstick. Considering all of the products are full-size and it's a $55 value for $28, I was all over that! I chose the pinky-beige kit, and I must say that I really like it. This review might get a little long...apologies! :/

Onwards! :)

N.Y.C. Liquid Lip Shine Review

01 February 2013

OMG. I know, I know, I am actually posting a blog. And, for the love of all things unholy and fattening, we're going to GET THIS BLOG POSTED TODAY (the first of February, if you were curious!) Okay, so I have been ridiculously, insanely, hellaciously busy with school. And I'm trying to get to the point where I can get a post up every three days, but we'll see how well THAT goes. Thanks to everyone who reads and comes back for more and stuff. Not to, you know, pimp my own blog, but you should follow it on Google if you like the content and the long-ass reviews I tend to post, haha. It tells you when I've updated, so that's pretty cool when I suck at regularly updating!

Anyway, this is going to be a review on a product that has been around since I was a small child and that would be the N.Y.C. Liquid Lip Shine gloss. I have two colors to share today and they're both on the nude side. I received one through the Influenster VoxBox program and the other I had purchased when they first repackaged their glosses. I know there are three glosses in the opening pic; the top one is the old packaging and formula, just for a quick comparison! I talked a bit about Influenster and how it works here and I did an unboxing video and blog on the Holiday VoxBox 2012 right here, so if you're curious, there be linkage!

FTC Disclaimer: The "Nude York City" lip gloss was sent to me by the website Influenster for testing and review purposes. I am not being paid or compensated in any way for this review, I am not affiliated w/ N.Y.C., and, as always, my reviews are 100% honest and entirely my own opinion.
