NYX Love In Rio Eye Shadow Trio Review

05 March 2013

It's going to be an exciting time on my blog if you enjoy NYX products. A lot of new products have come out and Ulta recently had them on sale, so I bought a bunch of new stuff to try. I've been doing a lot of lip product reviews lately so I wanted to get back into the whole eye makeup scene, so you'll have to wait for the Butter Gloss review, sadly!

I have two of the new Love In Rio eye shadow trios to talk about today. NYX has always been known for their eye products - pigmented shadows and a huge color range. I lump NYX in with drugstore makeup, so when you consider the sheer number of products and colors they come in, it's no wonder everyone freaks about this brand! Their old trios are still up on NYX's site. To be honest, I was never really blown away by the old trios (the ones with the round pans) or some other palettes by NYX, so I wasn't expecting miracles from these little guys.

Contouring & Highlighting 101 - Favorite Bronzers

04 August 2012

Okay, this is the bronzer suggestion part of my contouring/highlighting blog. Originally I planned on making one big post, but it would be so fucking long that it wasn't even remotely funny, nor did it seem like a good idea even w/ page anchors because who wants to read all of that?? So instead of being one massive blog, this is going to be a four-parter - the actual contour/highlight explanation, and then three separate blogs about my favorite blushes, bronzers, and highlighters. I don't use bronzer all over my face, so none of these are overly shimmery and the shimmery bronzers I DO own are definitely not my favorites.

So this is going to be my bronzer suggestions for contouring. These are the ones I've tried. There are others that I've heard about (Tarte's "Park Avenue Princess", Too Faced's "Chocolate Soleil", etc) but I've never used them so I can't really recommend them, ya know? This list covers all price ranges and should hopefully work for a variety of skintones!

This is picture-heavy and will still be pretty long, so let's get this show on the road!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream (Antwerp, Stockholm, Istanbul, and Addis Ababa) Review

14 August 2011

This is a post a long time coming. This is a product that I am absolutely raving mad about and in love w/. I want to buy all of these. I want to buy dupes of these. Like every product, these aren't flawless, but they are definitely on the fantastic side of the spectrum. I know you all know what it's about (since there's a picture of them, haha) but in case you aren't positive, this is going to be a review on the absolutely amazing NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. I have four colors and they are seriously to die for. Okay, well, maybe not to die for, but they are super effin' fantastical. These are $6 on NYX's website and NYX often goes on those B2G1 sales at Ulta. You can also buy these lovely little lippies at Cherry Culture and Nonpareil Boutique for $4.50! I'm not sure how long this sale will go on for, but I would definitely check this out.

I am not a super big gloss fan. I have tons of lip gloss because I'm constantly getting sucked in to the next big thing, but I am not a huge gloss fan. Also, I have been pretty anti-shimmer lately. Not sure why, but it's just my personal preference at the moment. So when I saw these, I was GEEKED. They're matte, which is super awesome and they are also in the form of lip glosses, so it's super convenient as well. Anyway, onto the review and swatches!
