Revlon Colorstay Whipped™ Crème Makeup REVIEW

14 August 2012

Okay, I imagine this is a review that I am, yet again, tardy to the party here. This foundation has been out for a couple of months or something now and I'm just now getting to this review. Obviously, I need to get my ass in gear. ANYWAY, as I'm sure is evident by the title, this is a review on the Revlon Colorstay Whipped™ Crème Makeup. I know that a lot of people are pretty excited about this foundation and a lot of people are reading numerous reviews on it, but I'm throwing my ring in the hat - er, hat in the ring as well.

This review is SUPER long and SUPER picture heavy so...you've been warned, lovelies.

But anyway, w/o further ado, onwards to the review!

Urban Decay Supercurl Curling Mascara Review

24 September 2011

This is going to be a review on the Supercurl Curling Mascara from Urban Decay. This only comes in black. I've tried several mascaras from Urban Decay before (Big Fattie, Skyscraper, and the lash growth one) and they never really did much for me. Skyscraper was so dry that it clumped w/in seconds on me. It's similar w/ MAC; MAC mascaras usually just...don't get my rocks off, ya know? I do like Opulash, but that's it. A travel size of this mascara came in the Book of Shadows Vol. 4 and, surprisingly, I like this mascara so much that I will probably repurchase when I run out. This mascara is normally $20. Which is pretty expensive for a mascara, TBH. I would normally argue that quality should matter more so than price point, at least for me, but w/ mascara I find that hard to justify. It's hard to throw $20 on a product you'll have to junk in three months, but I REALLY like this stuff!

I am of the general opinion that high-end mascaras are a bloody rip-off. I like Rimmel mascaras - in fact, my current favorite is this Rimmel mascara w/ WOW in the name (I can't remember the rest) which I found in Meijer for under $4. I like L'Oreal Carbon Black Voluminous, I like Covergirl's LashBlast Fusion, and One By One from Maybelline. Don't get me wrong - I've used some very good high end mascaras...but in the end, there are drugstore ones that work just as well - barring CARGO's TexasLash or Too Faced Lash Injection: those are fantastic and I haven't found anything that I like more. I mean, come on! Lash Injection smells like CITRUS. But now that I've gotten WAY off track, for the actual review, continue after the jump.

24/7 Waterproof Liquid Liner Review

I'm going to talk about a product I was incredibly excited for - the 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Liner from Urban Decay. I used to hate liquid liner because I was horrible at applying the stuff. I got really into gel liner for a while but liquid liner just seemed so convenient. I was introduced to the L'Oreal Carbon Black Lineur Intense and it was love at first streak. After that, I decided to give liquid liner a try again. You don't need to dirty up a brush and w/ liners like the L'Oreal one or the Maybelline Line Stiletto®, application is super easy, because they have a flexible felt tip instead of a brush, so the tip isn't going to randomly flare out.

After that, I tried out the Physicians Formula Eye Booster and fell in love, haha. Pen-style liners are so easy to use and you feel like you get more control. This has a brush tip, but the tip is tightly packed and has never flared out on me. As of right now, this liquid liner is unsurpassed by any I've tried and this liner, while being decent, doesn't beat the PF one or even the Maybelline liner for me. I didn't actually buy this liner on its own - a fullsize liner comes in the Book of Shadows Vol. 4. The color I have is in "Perversion", which is the carbon black shade.
