J.Cat Beauty First Impressions - Eyeshadow & Liner

Recently, while processing shipment, we found an exciting endcap display - looks like Ulta is going to start carrying J.Cat Beauty. You might know them as the brand that does the cheaper OCC Lip Tar dupes; I've heard of this brand for a while on YT and I was super excited to find out we would be carrying at least a few pieces from the line.

Hopefully we can expand the product range in the future because there are some other products that I plan on picking up (like the blushes...hello, I'm a crazy cat lady and those blush/bronzers are cute as hell) and it's definitely convenient to pick them up while at work.

This is not a full-on review. I've only had these products in my possession for around a week and I do plan on picking up more products from this brand.

Benefit They're Real! Push-Up Liner REVIEW

This is a review I should probably have had up a while ago, but I'm just now getting some computer access so apologies! This is, obviously (lol) going to be a review on the new gel liner pen from Benefit. One thing to note; while they claim to be the first company to package a gel liner in this format, they're not. This Maybelline one has been out internationally for, as I understand it, before the Benefit one. Not that this really means jack, but I wish companies would do a tiny bit of research before making claims. (Yes, it has been out longer than the Benefit one, I just did a quick Googling and found this review dating from September 2013.)

Anyway, I LOVE liquid eyeliner pens. Love love love. I usually use the Physicians Formula one (review here because it works well enough for me (not the blackest black liner, but what I sacrifice in intensity, I gain in sheer ease of application, availability, and price). I actually took a break from gel liners when I started using liquid ones more, and now I use almost exclusively liquid liner. That being said, I jumped outta my skin when I heard about the Benefit one because HOW COOL? A GEL LINER PEN! Anyway, let's start this! This product retails for $24.

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Trio in Green Eyes REVIEW (Holy bloody long title, eh?)

So, I am making it my personal goal to try and blog every day I have class. I know, I know, that seems slightly counter-intuitive, right? Shouldn't I try and blog every day I DON'T have class? Well, I want to get into the swing of regular updates and I have classes five days a week, so I will be utilizing my laptop and the internet most of those days, so it just makes sense to throw a blog in the mix, right? I mean, I can't study 24/7 so blogging will be one of those random distractions. Plus, this way I can get more blog posts out of the way and do more reviews and possibly start weekly series or something.

I digress - this blog post is going to be a review on a Physicians Formula product. Now, I want to STRESS - try and look for the peelie coupons on the product. Also, I usually only buy PF products when they're on sale because they can be pretty pricy, especially for drugstore. Also, it's a brand that, while being skin-friendly and innovative, isn't exactly FANTASTIC in terms of texture and pigmentation. My personal issue w/ PF lies in the fact that 95% of their products have shimmer. Which, considering this particular line is called 'Shimmer Strips', is, in this case, something that I'm well aware of. But even their other lines contain heavily shimmery products. I don't want a translucent setting powder that contains shimmer.

This is turning into a ridiculously long intro, so let's get on w/ it, yes?

Ulta Smokey Eyes, Metallic Eyes, and Automatic Liner Review

Okay, so I can't find the Ulta Smokey Eyes liners on their website anymore, BUT they were still selling them in my Ulta store as of last week. So I guess I'll talk about them anyway, and if you can spot them in your store and are interested, definitely check them out. Anyway, this is going to be a review on several Ulta brand eyeliners!

Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Liner Pencil and Exaggerate Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil Review

This is going to be a review for a product that has been out for a while. I've actually had these pencils for quite some time now...it just takes me a while to get things done, apparently. I have five of the Soft Kohl Kajal Liners and one Exaggerate pencil. Kohl liners tend to be notoriously smudgy - they're great for a smokey eye. While the other pencil is the exact opposite; it's waterproof and while you can still smudge it a bit, it's meant to be a bolder defining liner.

e.l.f. Essentials Brightening Eye Liner and Shimmer Eyeliner Pencil Review EDITED NOV. 28TH

This is going to be a review on some dollar e.l.f. eyeliner products - three of the Brightening Eye Liners and one of the Shimmer Eyeliner Pencils. I love eyeliner, which is funny because I usually only ever wear black liner, but...I like branching out. Or, rather, pretending that I'm branching out. These liners are super cheap, but they aren't the only cheap things, as far as liners are concerned. Both Wet N Wild and N.Y.C. make liners for only a buck as well, and they're longer than these.

Eye Studio® Color Explosion™ in 10 Amethyst Ablaze & Master Drama™ Cream Pencil in Midnight Master Review

While on a recent shopping trip, my eye was drawn to an endcap. I usually always glance over endcaps to see what is new or if there are any BOGOs or products w/ an added gift, but this time my attention was drawn to a new Maybelline display. They had shadow palettes and new eyeliner pencils. I love eyeshadow and I love automatic liners PLUS I was armed w/ coupons AND there was a BOGO50% so obviously these new products were going to be mine.

I love greens but usually of the bright or neon variety...forest greens aren't my piece o' cake. There was a palette of greens but most of the colors didn't scream out to me. I am not super huge into blue shadows and the pink one was okay. I imagine I'll end up buying the neutral palette eventually. I ended up getting 10 Amethyst Ablaze, which had some really fun purples. I also picked up a Master Drama™ Cream Pencil in 405 Vibrant Violet.

The liner was around $7.99 and the palette was $9.49 before tax. They are new products, however, so I expect that the price will drop. I imagine you'll be able to find these palettes and liners in any drugstore that stocks Maybelline. I am assuming they are going to be in the permanent line but as of right now stores appear to only have a couple of each color in stock.
