Laura Geller Balance-N-Bronze Review

This is going to be part of a mini review set I'm doing. I recently purchased a box set from Ulta by the brand Laura Geller. It was $60 (or $45, w/ my employee discount) for five full-size products and a couple of brushes. Unfortunately, the Baked & Beautiful set seems to be fairly hard to find. Also, five products is a lot to review in one post so since all of these products are available for single purchase, I'm just dividing these reviews up by product. This review is going to be on the Laura Geller Balance-N-Bronze powder duo in "Regular".

This product is a duo of the Balance-N-Brighten powder foundation and the Bronze-N-Brighten bronzer. Now, most pictures of this product online show an even split b/t the foundation and bronzer but mine has a lot more foundation than bronzer. Which is totally fine w/ me and I will get into that in the review. All LG Baked Collection products start out as a blend of liquid pigments which are then baked for 24 hours on terracotta plates. This is supposed to result in a really fine, silky powder which, due to the different color swirls w/in the powder, are supposed to match all skin tones and also be good for all skin types. This product is $31 alone and can be purchased at Laura Geller's website, QVC, and drugstore.com for sure, and probably anywhere LG products are sold. It comes in two shades - "Fair" and "Regular".

Revlon® ColorBurst™ Lip Butter Review

So, this is another one of those tinted lip balm reviews that I love to do, but this is a good review, I swear. I feel like a lot of the reviews I do aren't so great. I dunno, I think only reviewing products you love is strange. If you have a legit reason for not liking a product, you should share it w/ everyone, yes?

Who knows? Anyway, this review is pretty exciting because not only are these products cool, cheap, and drugstore but...*drumroll* they're also NOT LE or special edition. Which means in a year, this review should still be relevant, haha. :)

My Hair Dye Routine

I get a ton of questions about my hair during my day to day life. It's kind of funny, but I've actually been using the exact same hair dye for most of my hair dyeing days. My hair has been blue, teal, green, blond, yellow, orange, purple, burgundy, and pink over the course of my life and I've gone through various different types of dyes from Manic Panic to the dye you can get from Hot Topic to Sally Beauty Supply dyes but I always go back to red. Red was actually the first color I dyed my hair to and I just fell in love w/ how I look w/ it. I don't actually have black hair - I know it looks dark and I've actually gotten into shouting matches w/ people over this, but my hair is a very dark reddish-brown and it is QUITE obvious when you see my hair in sunlight.

Anyway, I've been using this dye from L'Oreal since I was 15...So almost a decade! I've had my hair other colors but I seriously always end up going back to the red. This stuff is super easy to use - it's specifically formulated for dark hair and it has the bleach built-in to the dye so you don't have to do multiple steps. I've always colored my own hair and I don't really have a method; it's literally just slap-dash style!

Sugarpill Pressed Shadows Review (Pt. 2.5)

Originally this post was going to go in my main review of these shadows but it was already pretty long and I didn't want to make it SO obnoxious to read so this is the pressed shadow review Pt. 2.5, which just looks at the actual shadow colors themselves. I've gone through and swatched any shadow I owned that could be considered a dupe, from high end to low end and, well, the results speak for themselves. I purchased the two available quads - the Sweet Heart quad and the Burning Heart quad. There are nine total pressed shadows available, so the only one I didn't purchase is "Bulletproof", which is the matte black. I really like the NYX single shadow in "Black"; in fact, I like it so much that I purchased a backup when NYX was on sale at Ulta. That, and I have MAC's "Carbon" in both the Pro pan form and in a pot from the Venomous Villains collection, so...I really don't need another black shadow!

Okay, we're getting into it. I apologize that everyone had to wait for this stuff. I'm vaguely neurotic about things like this. I had to try these shadows over primers, w/o primers, and various other random tests to fully do this review, hence why it took so long. Basically, I am really fond of these quads. I purchased the two available quads - the Sweet Heart quad and the Burning Heart quad.
